Version 5.3.5 Delivers Enhanced Security and Performance Benefits
Tone’s JES2Mail and JES2FTP solutions transform mainframe JES and other host output into PDF, HTML, XML, or CSV, then deliver the output to email in-boxes, network servers, RSS feeds, or the cloud – automatically.
Release 5.3.5 of JES2Mail and JES2FTP now provides enhanced TLS V1.3 protocol support for secure connectivity and improved performance, as well as System Z compatibility updates.
JES2Mail and JES2FTP 5.3.5 Enhancement Highlights:
- New TLS V1.3 support – TLS 1.3 is faster and more secure than TLS 1.2. A new JES2Mail and JES2FTP parameter ProtocolTLSV13 is now available for z/OS 2.4 and above environments. Users can specify ON to use TLSV1.3 protocol for more secure and higher performance connections.
- Enhanced Password Handling – Both JES2Mail and JES2FTP 5.3.5 now utilize the enhanced Tone password format that accommodates flexible System Z environments frequently found in zCloud and Capacity on Demand (COD) processor configurations. Tone Software password authorization codes are specified for each function.
- Validate Product Password Parameter – The JES2Mail and JES2FTP 5.3.5 product passwords are validated periodically by an hourly interval. The interval can be specified using the AuthCodeCheckWait parameter.
- Enhanced Documentation – The 5.3.5 version of JES2Mail, JES2FTP, RPL and PDF Overlay documentation has been revised and updated to provide improved organization and ease of use. Registered users may download the updated 5.3.5 documentation from the JES2Mail or JES2FTP Documentation pages on the Tone Support website.
