OMC-FLASH™

Windows Graphical Interface to the JES Spool

OMC-FLASH JES3 Graphical Interface expands the powerful OMC-FLASH host-based spool viewing and management capabilities to any Windows ‘9x, Windows 2000, or Windows XP desktop system.

Harnessing the power of Windows, the OMC-FLASH Graphical User Interface enables users to interactively control JES output in multiple concurrent Windows sessions on the same physical desktop screen, dramatically increasing JES output accessibility and overall user productivity. The powerfu OMC-FLASH graphical interface delivers:

Multi-tasking JES3 Output Processing capabilities, to support multiple concurrent transactions, and the ability to view and process multiple jobs, datasets, DDnames, and SYSLOG information through multiple active windows on the same desktop screen.

Comprehensive JES3 Output Control including interactive job browse, sort, find, print, copy, requeue, delete and much more.

Powerful JES3 Queue Management enabling users to view and manage JES3 jobs across the input, execution, and output queues through any Windows platform.

Customizable Session Profiles enabling users to define and save numerous different job selection and display profiles, which can then be iconized and placed on the Windows desktop for instantaneous retrieval and display of custom-sorted JES3 output.

Personalized Viewing Templates enabling users to manipulate, freeze, cut, paste, color-code and highlight rows and columns within job output. Users may then save the format for later use in order to create a personal library of convenient viewing templates which meet individual users needs.

Automated Job Error Recognition to automatically color-code and highlight jobs with specified error conditions or abends. This allows users to rapidly pinpoint and display errors, and further expedite diagnostics and problem resolution activities.

The OMC-FLASH GUI Job Selection Panel enables users to fully customize JES output viewing. Job display columns can be frozen to remain fixed during horizontal scrolling (shown above in yellow), and job output containing specific error codes can be automatically highlighted (shown above in red) to assist users in quickly identifying output they will wish to review.

A simple double click displays the job output in the Browse window, enabling users to view all output sequentially, or view individual datasets using the quick navigation icons shown in the left margin. The Browse window fully supports find capabilities to quickly pinpoint specific information within displayed job output.

The OMC-FLASH GUI Session Profile windows enable each user to define a wide variety of custom viewing templates for various types of host output. Once defined, each Session Profile can be saved, iconized, and placed on the desktop to provide direct, instantaneous custom viewing of host output through a simple double mouse click.
