Dynamic Module Location Facilty
DYNA-LOC™ is a powerful facility which effectively
locates specific system or user load modules within source
libraries and datasets across the MVS system.
Running as a TSO command processor, DYNA-LOC quickly and
efficiently searches for all versions of the specific MVS
Load Module, CLIST, REXX EXEC, or ISPF panel requested. All
libraries defined as STEPLIB, LPALIB, or LINKLIST datasets
are searched, as well as datasets allocated as CLIST, or
EXEC libraries.
When located, DYNA-LOC identifies all occurrences of the
specific module within source data sets, including any duplicates.
DYNA-LOC also specifies from which dataset a module or CLIST
will be executed, or from which panel library an ISPF panel
will be loaded, eliminating any question as to which version
is the production version.
DYNA-LOC is instrumental in QA, Auditing, and Security
oriented tasks, enabling systems programmers to easily pinpoint
the exact location and version of a load module, CLIST, REXX
EXEC, or ISPF panel that is currently in use. Through DYNA-LOC,
