High Performance DB2 Data Compression Facility

DCC-COMPACT™ provides optimum DB2 data compression without sacrificing CPU performance or limiting data compression options. DCC-COMPACT saves an average of 50% to 80% of DASD space required by each DB2 table while reducing the CPU utilization associated with DB2 compression processing.

DB2 installations enjoy complete flexibility from four compression options (including an IBM compatible Ziv-Lempel technique), as well as expanded user dialogues with pop-up windows to provide an ease of use that allows more effective DB2 management. DCC-COMPACT's unique design allows DB2 installations to achieve the optimum compression / CPU performance ratio while ensuring data integrity, application transparency, and DB2 compatibility.
