Remote Access & Control

CompuLert remote management capabilities enable users to remotely access, administer, and control the entire global population of computing devices directly from the CompuLert desktop workstation.

CompuLert's network independent, direct management design delivers the deepest access and control possible, providing authorized IT staff with direct keyboard access down to the BIOS level, just as if the user were standing in front of the target server or device. In addition, CompuLert's expanded capabilities enable IT staff to access and control graphical based servers and systems, such as NT, that can be difficult to remotely control. CompuLert remote access capabilities include:

  • Non-intrusive technology with no impact to remote server performance or operating system
  • Multiple access options including serial, modem, network, and internet
  • Flexible configuration options to fit any environment and architecture
  • Full security to ensure only authorized remote access

Critical Out-of-Band Access & Control

Unlike other "network-dependent" solutions that are often useless during network failures, CompuLert provides true "out-of-band" access and control that is not dependent on network communications or services. Should the network be inaccessible, CompuLert's direct management design guarantees remote access is continuously available to directly interact with the managed system or device to resolve problems and restore optimum operations.

CompuLert Remote Access Capabilities Enable IT Staff To:

  • Remotely perform comprehensive diagnostics or recovery operations
  • Remotely rebuild, restart, and reboot systems to ensure peak service levels
  • View the system or device reboot sequence and remotely interact with the sequence
  • Correct the BIOS, INIT, or BOOT settings to resolve core operating system problems prior to restart or reboot
  • Remotely control and recycle the power supply of devices to initiate a device reset or reboot.
  • Perform remote administration, maintenance, and configuration from any location
  • Automate remote system maintenance based on events, messages, or time of day
  • Automate diagnostics and recovery procedures, including therapeutic reboots sometimes beneficial for graphical systems such as NT
  • Interface to popular network management tools, such as HP OpenView, providing seamless access from anywhere in the world
  • Replace numerous "platform specific" access tools to reduce maintenance and license expenses
  • Locate skilled staff economically, regardless of hardware location

The CompuLert remote access solution integrates seamlessly within the existing environment configuration. CompuLert utilizes a secure, direct access method that does not require agents on the target server or system, eliminating many of the security concerns associated with using SNMP-based agents and network communication methods for remote access.

Through CompuLert, IT organizations can remotely access and control their entire global computing environment efficiently and securely to increase overall computing service levels, and deliver the necessary availability and reliability to the corporation and its customers.
