CompuLert®

Proactive Device Monitoring

CompuLert monitors the status and message stream of servers, network devices, mainframes, and environmental devices through non-intrusive, agent-less, protocol independent communication with the device. Through CompuLert, most any server or device can be monitored and managed including:

  • UNIX Servers such as Sun, HP, Linux, AIX, etc.
  • Windows Servers such as NT, 2000, XP.
  • Mainframe Systems including IBM and plug compatible running OS/390 and z/OS.
  • Network and SNMP Devices such as routers, bridges, switches, hubs, concentrators, etc.
  • Environmental Devices including thermostats, humidistats, UPS, motion sensors, water sensors, contact closures and security devices, etc.
  • Telecommunications Devices including CO switches, PBXs, voicemail servers, etc.
  • Adjunct Devices such as IVRs, ACDs, CSUs, IP/PBXs, Predictive Dialers, and other call center devices.

CompuLert monitors all operational functions and the activity of each system or device, as well as all data, message streams, and user activity to proactively detect system faults and exception conditions. In addition, CompuLert monitors specific device elements and attributes, such as CPU usage, memory, ports, connections, disk space etc. If desired, CompuLert can optionally validate the health or availability of managed systems and devices through periodic polling or automated scheduled actions initiated and analyzed on the target system or device.

CompuLert monitoring is non-intrusive, agent-less, and network independent to provide the most robust, fail-safe, and secure monitoring available. Should the network be inaccessible or inoperative, CompuLert continues to monitor and collect all data from the managed system or device, providing true "out-of-band" monitoring and management.

As CompuLert collects the data, it is analyzed in real time and compared to customized installation thresholds and criteria to trigger alarms and automated notification, as well as automated restore or recovery processes. In addition, all system and device data, as well as all user activity on the device, is logged and time stamped within the CompuLert log, which is continuously available for use in diagnostic and auditing activities.
