Technical Opportunities

Technical Writer

Employment Type: Full-time, Immediate Opening

Opportunity Summary:

The Technical Writer position will work directly with Product Management and the Technical Group. Your participation and input during the Product Requirements and Specification process, will contribute to the successful delivery of superior technical solutions to our customers.

General Responsibilities:

  • Developing Product Requirements
  • Developing Product Documentation
  • Developing and maintain Product Documentation Standards and Procedures
  • Developing Product Training Materials
  • Contributing in various product management activities such as user interface designs, establishing usability standards, on-line product help, assist with producing requirements and specifications

Job Requirements:

  • Proven track record of successfully producing and maintaining software product documentation.
  • Experience in developing product requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience in publishing tools for Windows, including FrameMaker, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Business Analyst experience is a plus!
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college/university in English, Technical Writing, Journalism, Technical Communications, Computer Science; or two plus years related experience and/or training.
  • Additional Desirable skills or experience: Working technical knowledge of UNIX/LINUX servers, basic networking, and mainframe environment (z/OS running JES2, JES3, DB2, etc.)

Product Support Engineer I

Employment Type: Full-time, Immediate Opening

Opportunity Summary:

As a Product Support Engineer I, you will serve as a primary support liaison between the company and our customers. You will be working closely with senior Support Engineers and Development to diagnose product problems and deliver fixes to customers. You will also perform Quality Assurance testing for new product releases and enhancements.

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide telephone and email support to customers for TONE’s entire suite of software products
  • Communicate effectively with customers to gather accurate problem description, collect documentation required for problem diagnosis, and deliver solutions and fixes
  • Involve in any additional follow-up, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Document customer issues and resolutions accurately and thoroughly
  • Develop technical content for TONE’s online support site
  • Participate in the QA process of new product releases and enhancements by validating, documenting and reporting bugs
  • Perform additional tasks or projects as directed by supervising manager

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment to deliver the best solutions to our customers
  • A good knowledge of computers
  • Programming experience in C/C++, Java, or Assembly
  • Some software development skills is desired
  • Familiarity with UNIX and Mainframe (TSO/ISPF, z/OS) platforms is a plus
  • Basic skills on networking and understanding of firewalls and proxies a plus
  • Experience in shell scripting is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is required
