DYNA-STEP Release 2.6.0 features include:
- Expanded Dynamic Library Allocation Capabilities: Users can dynamically allocate additional ISPF and TSO library types beyond STEPLIB and CPLIB. Library types supported include ISPLLIB, ISPPLIB, ISPMLIB, ISPTLIB, and ISPSLIB.
- Dynamic Creation or Alteration of any Allocated DD Statements: The keyword “FILE” has been expanded to accept any DDNAME, enabling users to dynamically allocate and alter any closed TSO DD statement allocation for increased flexibility.
- New Command Processor: The GENERIC parameter can be utilized with the DYNA-STEP command to allocate dataset(s) to a system specified DDNAME, (such as SYSnnnnn), and dynamically return that DDNAME as a variable in a CLIST or REXX EXEC.
- Expanded SAF Interface: The SAF interface is invoked for all DYNA-STEP functions for increased security. The expanded interface validates users are authorized to perform the DYNA-STEP functions requested, such as ADD and LIST.
- Additional Command Processor Keywords:
- The AFTER, BEFORE, and POS keywords enable users to specify the exact location in the concatenation to add a new dataset(s).
- The DELETE keyword enables users to easily remove only specific dataset(s) from a concatenation, eliminating the need to reenter the entire concatenation without the specific dataset(s).
- The LIST and PUSH keywords can be combined to produce a complete list of DDNAMEs previously allocated through PUSH, prior to performing the requested reallocation.
- The ADD and DATASET parameters enable users to specify a DDNAME of up to 8 characters as a fully qualified dataset name, which causes the datasets allocated to that DDNAME to be inserted into the specified concatenation.
- CD Installation Option: In addition to tape and cartridge options, the DYNA-STEP installation package is also available on CD.
- SMP/E Installation and Maintenance: SMP/E-based installation and maintenance is provided for sites utilizing SMP/E compliant installation and support procedures.
- Full z/OS Compatibility
- All Maintenance Applied to Source
