Sales Solutions Engineer

Employment Type:
Full-time, Immediate Opening.

Position Summary:

Tone Software seeks a Sales Solutions Engineer to be the technical resource to our ReliaTel solutions sales group.   The role requires selling technically complex solutions to large enterprises and managed service providers, coupled with strong relationship development and consultative skills. 

As the Sales Solutions Engineer, you are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate of ReliaTel.

Position Requirements:

  • Hands on experience in Telephony and VoIP technologies, with an understanding of the industry and marketplace.
  • Experience in designing and presenting complex solutions to high level stakeholders as well as technical experts.
  • Perform product demonstrations to technical and C-level executives
  • Prior experience carrying a quota or rollup quota from a sales team.
  • Prepare technical and solution design sections in RFP/bid responses.
  • Experience working with a fast paced and high energy group of sales hunters
  • Hands on experience training sales teams on evolving technology and new hire on boarding
  • Prior history of developing relationships with and presenting to key technical end users, engineers, IT Directors, and CIO’s.
  • Understanding of Enterprise technology buying cycle
  • Prior experience working with Managed Service Providers and System Integrators
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Travel domestically and internationally.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Hands on experience with a variety of traditional and IP telephony solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of Unified Communications, Data Networking and TDM technologies, specifically Avaya, Cisco, Nortel and Microsoft Platforms.
  • Technical expertise and experience with NGN and IMS architecture including IP Telephony Architectures and VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP, RTP/RTCP).
  • Working knowledge of client-server architectures, database servers and communications servers especially as it relates to network configurations, optimizations, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Thorough understanding and practical application of VoIP QoS and QoE metrics.
  • CCNA, CCDA, MCSE and/or relevant IP telephony/UC certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in network management and monitoring.
  • Remote presentation skills and deep working knowledge of remote screen share technologies, (e.g. GoToMeeting, Webex, etc.)

Enterprise Account Executive

Tone Software Corporation is currently accepting applications for an Enterprise Account Executive to aggressively hunt, architect, and close opportunities for our innovative ReliaTel telecommunications software solutions in the Large Enterprise or Managed Service Provider space.

In this role, you'll leverage Tone’s resources to develop, maintain, and close a pipeline of new business opportunities, while directly architecting sales strategies focused on exceeding sales quotas and maximizing the lucrative commission plan.

Qualified Candidates should have a minimum of the following:

1)      4-5 year proven track record of successfully closing technology-based sales:

    • Building and maintaining a pipeline from the ground up
    • Proven track record of “Top Down” selling at the “C” Level in large Enterprise accounts
    • Understanding of solution based, strategic selling techniques that involve multiple types of buyers, influencers, advocates, and end users

2)      Verifiable and recent experience exceeding quota at the same company for at least 3-4 years
3)      Proven track record of closing large 6-7 figure deals, and exceeding annual quotas of $1 million
4)      Ability to work in a fast paced, consistently evolving environment
5)      Good understanding of high-tech and telecommunication technologies (QoS, VoIP, TDM, SIP, Video Conferencing,
         Switches/Routers, and Unified Communications)
6)      Experience leveraging industry contacts and developing alternate channels to create opportunities and drive revenue
7)      Entrepreneurial attitude
8)      Significant experience with CRM – managing all calls, appointments, proposals, and opportunities through the CRM
9)      Ability to leverage marketing campaigns and call lists to book appointments with potential customers
10)   Solid list of customer/client and previous employer references
11)   Influence buyers and customers with existing and emerging market trends, ROI Analysis, pain points, product features
12)   4 year degree or equivalent experience

Product Support Engineer I

Job Description:

As a Product Support Engineer I for Tone Software you will serve as a primary support liaison between the company and our customers. You will have the opportunity to work with senior engineers and developers to diagnose Tone's software product issues and deliver answers and solutions to customers. You will also perform Quality Assurance testing for software product releases and enhancements. This position is located at our Anaheim, CA office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to customers for Tone’s entire suite of software products via telephone, email, and the web.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to gather accurate problem description, collect documentation required for problem diagnosis, and deliver solutions and fixes.
  • Perform any necessary additional follow-up, troubleshooting, and testing.
  • Document customer issues and resolutions accurately and thoroughly.
  • Assist in the design of customer service processes on a modern Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Gather requirements from customers and users for product enhancement ideas and document product specifications.
  • Develop instructional documents on new and existing product functionalities.
  • Plan and conduct product trainings to customers and internal staff.
  • Plan, organize, and manage resources for customers, as well as for internal projects.
  • Participate in the QA process for new software product releases and enhancements by validating, documenting and reporting bugs.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as directed by supervising manager.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Must be a people person.
  • Strong familiarity and working experience with Unix, Linux, and Windows-based computer hardware and software, with the ability to diagnose software application issues.
  • At least 2 years of customer service experience working in or for large enterprises, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to deliver the best solutions to our customers.
  • Coursework or working experience with UNIX or Linux system administration.
  • Experience using and supporting a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application or trouble ticketing system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or extensive related work experience.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Project management experience.
  • Some programming skills with Java/C++ or common scripting languages such as Ruby, or Unix shell.
  • Experience working in the telecommunication industry diagnosing VoIP related issues.
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred).
